Diagnostic Intake

Mental health treatment typically begins with a diagnostic intake. This is a process in which a licensed psychologist or other trained mental health professional conducts an interview with the client in order to obtain relevant historical and background information. The therapist may also spend some time orienting the client to therapy, reviewing the informed consent form(s), and outline policies and procedures. The diagnostic intake may yield a diagnosis and the therapist may make appropriate clinical recommendations and referrals.

Intakes last about 60-minutes in length.

Individual Psychotherapy

Individual psychotherapy (also known as counseling, talk-therapy, or treatment) is a process in which clients work 1-on-1 with a licensed psychologist or other trained mental health professional in a safe, caring, and confidential environment.

Sessions last about 50-minutes in length.

​

Teletherapy

Teletherapy (also known as telepsychology, telehealth, or telemedicine) refers to psychological treatment delivered via technology such as video conferencing. Teletherapy allows individuals to conveniently receive mental health treatment in the comfort of their homes.

Sessions last about 50-minutes in length; or 60 minutes in length for a diagnostic intake.

Workshops & Trainings 

Dr. Sami partners with Neurodiverse Counseling Services to offer workshops & trainings surrounding Neurodivergent Affirming Practices. Workshops and trainings are held either in-person or via webinar locally or nationally. Workshops can be modified to fit yours or your agency's needs.

Consultation

Consultation occurs between two professionals: The consultant, who is a specialist; and the consultee, who requests help or advice from the consultant. A consultation usually includes a consultee obtaining advice or direction regarding matters within their field of practice; or information from someone who is a specialist in the field.

Consultations last about 60-minutes in length.

Psychological/Psychoeducational Evaluations

Dr. Sami no longer conducts psychological and psychoeducational evaluations. She provides brief psychological and behavioral evaluations on a case-by-case basis.
