"Be the Pokemaster of Yourself" - Pokemon Strengths & Goals - Neurodiversity
"Be the Pokemaster of Yourself" with Pokemon Strengths & Goals is a strenghts-based positive psychology play therapy activity. It is taught in a neurodivergent-affirming manner and is telehealth friendly. This activity is a Google Slide with interactive components, and animated gifs. This activity is more complex and you will receive instructions on how to use it within the slides. It will benefit you to learn how to use this before using it with your clients or students.
This resource can be completed over one or multiple therapy sessions dependent on your individual client's needs.
Your client's goal is to become the "Pokemaster" of themselves by getting to know their unique strengths and needs, while also setting goals via niche construction. You and the client will use Pokemon-based metaphors, analogies, and concepts to learn about the client's strengths, engage in self-exploration, and provide psychoeducation. The activities can be adjusted and the text can be edited to meet the client's unique interests & needs.
This activity requires the use of internet. It utilizes two various websites: Pokedex and Pokemon Fusion Generator. The utilizer of this resource should be competent in screen-sharing (if using telehealth) and adding images into Google Slides. Instructions are provided.
